The Proxy Community

Driving Proxy’s mission is a large community of passionate people dedicated to ethical fashion. Our community includes the Proxy team, Proxy's board of advisers that continuously help guide the ship & open new doors for Proxy's mission, Proxy's investors, supporters, and volunteers, and finally our cooperative partners dedicated to producing Proxy fashions and accessories. We are deeply grateful to all that support Proxy’s efforts to empower and employ women in a sweatshop-free, sustainable world. If you would like to learn more about how to get involved please email us at: info@proxyapparel.com.

Proxy's Team

Heatherjean MacNeil, CEO

After years of working with women to start small businesses in rural areas of Latin America, Heatherjean became inspired to start her own mission-driven company that creates economic opportunities for women. She merged her love for fashion and social entrepreneurship into the Proxy concept and officially launched the company in early 2009. While she is currently very dedicated to growing the company, Heatherjean spends her free time supporting other entrepreneurs and traveling to Spanish-speaking companies to enjoy the sun, tropical flora, and local culture. She loves her bike, indie rock, the beach, books, and everything organic.

Naomi Mirando, Stylist

Naomi Mirando is a fashion stylist based in Boston and was named one of the most stylish Bostonians by the Boston Globe in 2010.

Naomi attended The School of Fashion Design in 2001, pursuing a career in Visual Merchandising and Styling. She has been involved on all ends of the fashion retail spectrum from Sales to Management to Regional Merchandiser to Stylist; at boutiques and high-end retailers including Bloomingdales, Jasmine Sola, Macy’s, True Religion, and Nordstrom.

Miriam Moser, Marketing Maven

Miriam Moser is Proxy's social media maven, writing the various missives posted on the Proxy blog, sharing vintage pattern inspiration on Tumblr, and occasionally sewing up clothing samples. The latter has very little to do with marketing, but is a fun change of pace.

Miriam has a passion for well-made, well-designed clothing and is committed to crafting a future where all goods are made in a fair and ethical manner.
